Description: 
The E.P. Church Rural Development programme started as an Agricultural Station in the early 1970s. Its main focus was to support farmers with tractor services and the supply of farm inputs to enable them increase agricultural production. Following an evaluation, the focus of the Programme later changed to Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development.
Objectives: 
To empower the rural poor to improve upon their income generation through sustainable agriculture and reduce their level of poverty and adverse health conditions.
Partner Activities: 
Agro Forestry: Train farmers in nursery management techniques, supply seedlings/seed to farmers on request mainly cashew and tree growing. Beekeeping: Assist farmers to undertake beekeeping as a dual-purpose activity to generate income and protect the environment Extension Education: Undertake visits to farms, homes and field demonstrations on modern farming techniques. Food Security: Grain banking, small ruminant breeding Micro Credit and Savings Scheme: Support women and men groups with loans for income generating activities Nutrition and Improvement: Introduce women to soya bean cultivation and as a cash crop, teach women to use soya in local dishes to improve nutritional status of family, especially children. Description: 
Evangelical Presbyterian Development and Relief Agency (EPDRA) is a registered Non Governmental Organization in the year 2005 with the registrar General in Accra ((Reg # G.16, 497). This is a development wing of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, with its headquarters at the Volta Region. Ho. EPDRA is a body of six agricultural stations under the Church, three down Southern Ghana and three up North (Yendi, Saboba and Chereponi) located at the Eastern corridor of the northern region. Each agricultural station has a station manager and three supporting staff who are the field officers. As an agricultural station, our core business is agricultural extension that leads to improving food security for rural households’, this also includes training farmers on various topics that will lead to livelihood improvement or increase in food security to benefit both women and men farmers. We currently operate in fifty three communities with a total beneficiary of two thousand and twenty five. We also support women groups with micro credit to help them increase their income levels/livelihoods, as we do this we are also very mindful of the social inclusion of all community members in our operational areas.

The programme exist to continuously provide Participatory, Innovative and proven Agricultural Development services that respond to the immediate and strategic needs of farmers in Northern Ghana in an effort to attain food and income security in a sustainable farming environment.

Description: 
The Station was opened in 1975 by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the Dutch and Ghana Governments. The pioneering work of the Station was done by Mr. Ronne Tonne, a CUSO Agriculturist from 1972 – 1972 followed in succession by Mr. Roland Leichty, 1973-1974, Mr Paul Christopher, 1974-1975 and Mr. Keitis Yoda, 1975-1976.Within the above period the programme was under the supervision of Mr. Karl Rigsters, the then Project Manager of Garu Agricultural Station. From 1976-1983 Mr. Stan Frayenberger, an American Agriculturalist, began the consolidation phase of the Agricultural Extension programme.In 1983 Mr. Andre De Jager, a Dutch Agriculturist, took over the administration of the Station until 1987 when Mr. Dan Kolbilla, a Ghanaian, was appointed to understudy Mr. De Jager. He eventually took over the responsibility in 1988.
Objectives: 
To meet the agricultural input needs of the people in the area
To increase food production in the area and alongside this promote cash crop production especially kenaf and cotton
Nutrition improvement (primary Health Care) for the under-five years children within the area
