Mr. Malex A. Alebikiya has more than 35 years of agricultural development experience. As the Executive Director, he plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing ACDEP\u2019s development agenda. He has many years\u2019 experience in NGO and project management and has managed large and diverse donor projects directly implemented by ACDEP and in partnership with INGOs.<\/p>\n
As the team lead, Mr. Alebikiya is responsible for the achievement of ACDEP\u2019s strategic and overall programme objectives and results for a positive, impactful and sustainable transformation of the social, economic, political, and cultural wellbeing of the target populations.<\/p>\n
Mr. Malex Alebikiya served as an Agricultural Extension Officer and later as a Project Manager at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Agricultural Station in Yendi from 1976 to 1979. In this role, he oversaw the development and implementation of the station\u2019s agricultural and primary health care programmes. As Project Manager he was also responsible for the development and initiation of new programmes. From 1981 to 1996, he assumed the position of Project Manager for the Agricultural Information Service of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. During this period, he was responsible for the organizational capacity building of the Church Agricultural Stations in northern Ghana, networking with government, donors, non-governmental and bilateral agricultural development projects in northern Ghana.<\/p>\n
From 1996 to 2000, Malex served as the Country Programme Coordinator for the Multi-Country Collaborative Action Research Project funded by The Netherlands\u2019 government (DGIS) and implemented by ETC Foundation (in The Netherlands). His role involved overall project management, coordinating the multi-stakeholder and interdisciplinary participatory research activity in Ghana, liaising with the country programmes in Peru, India and The Netherlands, facilitating the publication of research results and reports. Mr. Alebikiya is also a development consultant with expertise in agricultural and rural development, organizational management and project evaluations.<\/p>\n
He holds a Master\u2019s Degree in Development Studies (Agriculture and Rural Development (1988) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Rural Policy and Project Planning (1986) both from Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, Netherlands, and a certificate in Project Planning and Management from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, (GIMPA).<\/p>\n
