Ben Kasimu Wumbla

Mr. Wumbla currently works as a Programs Manager for ACDEP where he leads program development, implementation, donor coordination, team management, reporting, supervision, etc. He has over 17 years of experience in program management and has led programming, project design, directing implementation, and oversaw planning and donor compliance. He obtained his first degree in Political Science and a master’s in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS). He is also professional teacher by training with six years of teaching experience to his credit.

He most recently worked for the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding, Ghana (WANEP-Ghana) and held various positions including Conflict Mitigation Coordinator for a USAID-supported consortium project on agriculture governance (AGREE) Activity), Project Manager, and Acting Programs Manager and led the the design of a conflict-sensitivity manual and training of over 1,200 stakeholders, coordinated the Dagbon constitutional review and adoption processes,  and directed stakeholders’ consultations and drafting of sub-national level policies on farmer – herder conflicts and women’s access to farmlands.

Earlier in his career, he had coordinated a Global Affairs Canada-supported food security and livelihoods project  (RESULT), managed the Right To Play Northern Ghana programs as well as coordinated a local governance support program at the Institute of Local Government Studies in Tamale with funding from the German Development Service (DED).
