Ayamga Samuel
Mr. Ayamga Samuel Atia is currently the Project manager for ACDEP where he serves as the country coordinator for the “Expanding the promotion of Local Innovation for Food Security and healthy nutrition to strengthen resilience with focus on women” project – ELI-FaNS project under PROLINOVA.
With 17 years of experience in development practice, Mr. Atia is skilled in farmer training, project proposal development, community development, gender equality and advocacy, and nucleus farmer strengthening. In his former position as Project Coordinator for an EU-funded Northern Ghana Integrated Development Project with Tree Aid Ghana, he coordinated Climate Resilient Sustainable Agricultural Practices (CRSA) with women groups in 80 communities of Upper East and Northern Regions, facilitated the development of 60 small-holders women farmer groups in 60 communities and successfully coordinated the setting up of district disaster relief fund for farmers (DRFF) in Kasena Nankana Municipal, Builsa South District, Zabzugu and Tatale/Sanguli Districts, trained and supported the development of 45 VSLA groups in Northern Ghana. He has had some stints with Technoserve-Ghana as a Senior Business Advisor/ Agronomy Team Lead for a USAID-Feed the Future Ghana Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (AgNRM) project, and the Upper West Regional Technical Manager for IFDC’s USAID-Feed the Future Agriculture Technology Transfer (ATT) Project. He had also previously worked with ACDEP as a Project Manager for an AGRA-supported FOSCA Project and Tumu Deanery Rural Integrated Development Programme (TUDRIDEP) as the Program Manager, Evangelical Presbyterian Rural Development and Relief Agency (EPDRA) as a Project Officer and the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (CESRUD)as a Field officer.
Mr. Atia holds an MPHIL degree in Environment and Resource Management, a BSc Agriculture Technology and Agric. Economics and Extension from the University for Development Studies (UDS) and has four years of teaching credit to his name.
